SITEL Corp., the global leader in outsourced telephone-based customer service, expanded its insurance sales and services division call center in early 1998 into a 48,000 sq ft building, at the Loring Commerce Centre. Sitel employs over 280 people, with expansion possibilities to well beyond 500 people. Sitel recently announced plans to expand its call center operation to include an in-bound call center that is expected to result in the creation of 100 new jobs.  Company representatives stated that this could be the "tip of the iceberg", with respect to future expansions in northern Maine.
